CASCABEL VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Cascabel Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank all the members of the community for their support. The CVFD Annual Meeting was held at Gammons Gulch on January 12, 2008. A new Board of Directors was elected as well as a new Fire Chief. The Board wishes to thank all the nominees for the Board and also thanks to the outgoing Board Members for all their work. A special thanks to outgoing Chief, Les Helfrich for his dedication to the Cascabel Volunteer Fire Department.

Over the past year, the Cascabel Volunteer Fire Department Board has noticed that there has been diminishing participation and interest in CVFD activities. With the resignation of our Fire Chief, the Board feels that this may be a good time to reassess the structure of the Fire Department. We are looking for direction from the community in order to do this. A lot of time and commitment has been put into establishing and building the Fire Department up to this time. The Fire Department is currently at risk of dissolving for lack of participation. We need to find out from members of the community if they feel it is worthwhile to continue having a fire department in our area and if so, what form they would like it to take. We would really appreciate it if you could take the time to respond to some assessment questions on our blog at: cascabelvfdblog.blogspot.com. You are also welcome to use the blog as a discussion forum. Thank you for your valuable input.

The Board of Directors of the Cascabel Volunteer Fire Department meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Cascabel Community Center at 9 AM.
